Part-time Ushers/ Box Office Clerks Neptune Theatre More than 45 years of entertaining, educating, and challenging audiences. Join the Neptune Theatre Team! We are seeking Part-time Ushers/ Box Office Clerks for our 2009-2010 Season Located in the heart of downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, Neptune Theatre is one of Canada's premiere regional theatres and has provided Atlantic Canada with high-quality, professional theatre for more than 45 years. Neptune Theatre is an integral part of the arts community in Nova Scotia with the 479-seat Fountain Hall Theatre, 190-seat Studio Theatre, a Theatre School with over 1,400 students, and a Young Neptune Company Tour that travels to more than 100 schools throughout Nova Scotia each year. The Ushers are at the front of the line for customer service and serve as Neptune Theatre’s hosts. Under the direct supervision of the Front of House Manager, Ushers are responsible for the following: preparing the theatre and lobbies for the reception of patrons; scanning ticket stubs and directing guests to their seats; providing information to customers on Neptune Theatre programs and services; dealing with customers’ requests for assistance or complaints and other duties as assigned. Box Office Clerks are at the front of the line for customer service at Neptune and deal directly with Neptune Theatre patrons both in person and by telephone. Under the direct supervision of the Box Office Manager, Box Office Clerks are responsible for the following: general ticket sales and service; providing patrons with exemplary customer service; following box office policies and procedures; following cash and credit handling procedures; and a variety of administrative and customer oriented tasks. Candidates for these positions must be 19 years and older, have good oral and written communication skills, a good work and attendance record and superior customer service skills. Hours vary, but are mostly evenings and weekends. Prior experience in a similar role would be desirable.
