Role: Sky Neptune: Debut! Bio: Born and raised in Toronto, Jahlen started his training at the age of 8 at the Annex Children’s Theatre Education Program. He also trained with the Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus. Jahlen appeared in Alice in Wonderland and Sweeney Todd in 2016 at the Shaw festival. In Toronto, Jahlen was seen in Seussical at Young People’s Theatre as one of the Wickersham Brothers and then as Youth in the Musical Stage Company's production of Passing Strange for which he won a Dora Mavor Moore award. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston and a long-established first call drummer/percussionist in Halifax. After years of international touring with leading East Coast artists, Tom joined the Stadacona Band of the Royal Canadian Navy. In January 2018, after 16 years of service, Tom retired from the Stadacona Band. He is currently on faculty at the StFX jazz studies program and continues to pursue professional performance opportunities. Tom’s CD release “Piano Trios” won the 2006 ECMA for jazz recording of the year.
