Drop-in Classes are aimed at our Adult Students. Any teens interested in attending should be familiar with the theatre school. If interested email lcaswell@neptunetheatre.com to get permission to attend the drop-in classes if under 18 years of age.

IMPROMPTU INTRO to IMPROV with Adrianne Gagnon

When: Thursdays, January 11 - March 1 (8 weeks)
7 - 8:30pm

Cost: $15 cash at the door

Advance registration $80 for all 8 weeks

Do you love comedy and improv? Is your New Year's resolution to try something new? Break out of your comfort zone? Are you an experienced actor who needs to “get out of your head?” This is the perfect class to learn new skills and brush up on old ones. Each class will allow you to explore different improv games and sketch activities. Come out for a great challenge, a good laugh, and a great chance for you to motivated for 2018!

ADRIANNE GAGNON -- Adrianne lives to be happy and wants to help others live to their full, positive output! 11 years ago she took her first improv class at the Second City Training Centre in Toronto, ON and since then, she has never quite looked at life the same. She is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory program and has studied improv at the iO in Chicago. 

Adrianne has travelled North America performing and teaching with her three-woman improv troupe, We’re From Here. Adrianne is the founder and Artistic Director of the Big City Improv Festival, which is Canada’s largest improv festival and has been going strong for 6 years. 

Adrianne is also the founder of Mission Critical Comedy, a Halifax-based company dedicated to bringing the positive influence and (IHO) life-changing concept of improv to her peers in the Maritimes! Follow Mission Critical Comedy on Facebook for details.

Recently, Adrianne wrote and toured a one-woman comedy called Operation 87; a hilarious collection of stories about unrequited love, growing up as an awkward redhead, and how to get Sidney Crosby to marry her!

DROP IN DANCE with DAVID LIGHT (and guests)

When: Mondays, January 8 - February 12.
7 - 8:30pm

Advance registration $60 for all 6 weeks

Alright, new year, new moves. David Light will motivate you to get physical and expose you to different dance styles! This challenging but accessible dance class will allow you to develop some technique while learning a new combo every week. Styles will include Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Jazz and intro to tap. Come and get grooving on at Neptune with this star of the Fountain Hall Stage!

DAVID LIGHT -- David is a Prairie Boy born and raised in Prince Albert, SK. Since packing his bags and heading to Toronto he's appeared on most major stages across North America. He got a start as a finalist (second place male) on CBC's Triple Sensation Season II. Shortly after David found himself in The First National Tour of the Tony Award Winning Billy Elliot - The Musical (ensemble/US Tony), which after almost three years closed in São Paulo, Brazil. You can currently catch David on stage at Neptune in It’s a Wonderful Life. Other credits include: Disney's Beauty and the Beast (Neptune Theatre), Anne of Green Gables - The Musical [Mr. Phillips], Canada Rocks!, and Evangeline (Charlottetown Festival), Robin Hood, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty (Ross Petty Productions), Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Evangeline, and West Side Story (Citadel Theatre), Chicago (Drayton Entertainment), You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown [Charlie Brown] (Head First Productions), Jerry Springer: The Opera - North American Premiere, High Fidelity - The Musical [Rob Gordon]Canadian Premiere (Hart House Theatre), The Rocky Horror Show [Dr. Frank-N-Furter], Cabaret [Cliff Bradshaw]and The Last 5 Years [Jamie](LOT Productions), and as Zak in Bravo's Into the Light.
