Students from this program have gone on to train at conservatory theatre programs throughout the country or have pursued acting careers.

In this process-oriented program, students work with a professional creative team to hone their acting skills. The culmination of this program is a full scale production on Neptune Theatre’s Scotiabank Stage

Spring Production:

SHE KILLS MONSTERS - by Quin Nguyen

She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen is a comedic romp into the world of fantasy role-playing games (such as Dungeons and Dragons). It tells the story of high schooler Agnes Evans as she deals with the death of her younger sister, Tilly. When Agnes stumbles upon Tilly's Dungeons and Dragons notebook, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister's refuge.

In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 90's pop-culture, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek warrior within us all.

This show is packed with wit, farce, action and heart - this award winning play will delight all of our audiences.

She Kills Monsters will be at Neptune Theatre from March 5-10th on the Scotiabank Stage!

(recommended age: over 12 years old. This show is set in highschool and there are elements of bullying, sexuality and violence that some may find innapropriate for children.)

Youth Performance Company

The Youth Performance Company (YPCo) is an elite training program for students aged 13-18 who show exceptional talent in the areas of acting, singing, and dancing, and wish to advance their triple threat skills.

In this process-oriented program, students work with a professional creative team to hone their triple threat skills. The culmination of this program is a full scale production on Neptune Theatre’s Scotiabank Stage.

 November 21st to 25th.

Epic, grand and uplifting, Les Misérables School Edition packs an emotional wallop that has thrilled audiences all over the world. Neptune Theatre’s Youth Performance Company presents a cast of 30 up-and-coming musical theatre stars that will dazzle and inspire.

This production will make you ask the question, What is a revolution? What does it mean to us today? The YPCo company will take you to a time when Jean Valjean is released from years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a lifelong struggle for redemption as he isrelentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. Finally, during a student uprising, Javert must confront his ideals after Valjean spares his life and saves that of the student revolutionary who has captured the heart of Valjean’s adopted daughter.

This author-approved edition has been abridged to a running time of just over two hours while beautifully maintaining the integrity of this musical masterpiece.

(Suggested age; above 10 years old. Though this is a youth production it still contains some of the elements of violence, sexuality and death from the orignal production.)
