Youth Performance Company

 

The Youth Performance Company (YPCo) is an elite training program for students aged 13-18 who show exceptional talent in the areas of acting, singing and dancing and wish to advance their Triple Threat skills.

In this process-oriented program, students work with a professional creative team to hone their triple threat skills. The culmination of this program is a full scale production on Neptune Theatre’s Scotiabank Stage.


Summer Intensive – YPCo Boot Camp

YPCo Boot Camp, which provides approximately 2 weeks or 80 hours of instruction, will run from Monday to Friday, July 10  21.

Special this year, the final Showcase will be an open-air performance held on Saturday, July 22 at the Public Gardens as part of their Canada 150 Year celebration.

The fee for Boot Camp is $500 + HST.


Announcing: YPCo Company AUDITIONS

Neptune's Youth Performance Company will be casting roles in a NEW CANADIAN MUSICAL to have it's WORLD PREMIERE on Neptune's Scotiabank Stage in November 2017.

Auditions will take place Monday, July 17 at 5pm at Shambhala School (5450 Russell St.).

The audition will begin with a basic dance call. Please wear clothes you are comfortable to move in. Students will be called in groups. Auditions should go no later than 8pm.

Each performer should prepare a song and a monologue. Accompanist will be provided, so please bring printed music in a binder. Sides may be given to "cold read" at the audition. Please bring an up-to-date photo and resume.

Rehearsals will be from September 8 – November 12 with shows running November 13- 19, 2017.  (You must be available during all these dates, with most rehearsals taking place on Friday 6-10pm and Sunday 10am-6pm. Please note: in order to workshop the musical with the composer, there will be extra rehearsals the first two weeks of September. A detailed schedule will be provided upon acceptance.)

Cost of enrollemnt: $500 (plus HST for students 14 and up)

The title of the show will be announced at the Neptune Theatre School Season Launch, Monday, September 18 at 7pm at the Scotiabank Stage and the YPCo company will have the opportunity to workshop the show with the composer and writer.
